Amber (she/her)
I first started working with Bridges as a mentee in 2022. I got a lot of confidence from being able to talk to someone and feel really safe with them.
After about a year of being a mentee, Neil encouraged me to become a mentor myself. I initially felt like I wasn’t ready for it, but Neil gave me the confidence to try. I ended up being able to be totally myself, and have made some great friends volunteering here.
Volunteering has helped me build my skills. I feel like it’s made me a better, stronger, more prepared person. Bridges feels like a proper safe space, which is something I haven’t always had in my life. I’ve loved seeing how my mentees have grown.
Outwith volunteering, talk to me about Grey’s Anatomy, muay thai, art and literally all music (but mostly stuff from the 80s and 90s).
