Volunteers and Sessional Workers
Katrina Hamilton, Personal Development Mentor & Educational Support Worker
As a Personal Development Mentor, Katrina helps young people who have reached the upper age limit of our Personal Development Programme to access other support services. In her Educational Support Worker role, she helps young people get the skills they need to move into work, further education or apprenticeships through mentoring sessions and sector-focused courses.
Katrina worked in advice services, housing and homelessness before retiring in 2023. As a mother and grandmother, she has had a keen interest in the wellbeing of children and young people for a long time. She helps out at Bridges Project to help young people “be all they can be”.
Alan Hamilton, Travel Training Mentor
Our Travel Training Mentor supports young people to plan and make journeys.
Alan worked as an IT systems developer in the semiconductor industry before retiring in 2021. When working, he enjoyed developing technical skills in younger people and watching them grow in confidence. He is delighted he has the opportunity to continue doing this through volunteering with Bridges Project.
