Lynne Anderson,

Education and Employability Coordinator

Our Education and Employability Coordinator manages the Education and Employability team. The Education and Employability Coordinator also works one-to-one with young people, helping them get where they want to go after leaving school. She also helps young people build up their job skills and qualifications. Lynne works in partnership with a number of agencies including social work, health professionals, school guidance and support staff, college staff, East Lothian Works and Skills Development Scotland.

Lynne joined the team in 2009, bringing with her an extensive background in youth work, community learning & development, informal education, youth justice and streetwork. She has held a wide range of posts within Bridges Project before taking on her current role in 2022.

 

Shaw Palmer, Employability Support Worker (16+)

Our Employability Support Worker (16+) helps young people get the skills they need to move into employment, apprenticeships or further education through mentoring sessions and workshops.

Shaw joined Bridges Project in the summer of 2023, having worked as a chef in different settings across Edinburgh. He is also a certified TEFL tutor and has taught English online to Ukrainian Refugees looking to resettle in the UK. Shaw has worked in a variety of jobs, and he brings with him this broad experience.

 

Zac Emerson, Educational Support Worker

Our Educational Support Worker helps young people get the skills they need to move into work, further education or apprenticeships through mentoring sessions and sector-focused courses.

Zac joined Bridges Project in May 2024. He has a background in helping people with various challenges get into work, improve their confidence and gain employability skills. Zac has also worked with supporting vulnerable people to ensure they have cost-effective energy suppliers in their homes. As well as this, he has extensive experience of volunteering, helping LGBTQ+ young people thrive in different environments.

 

Sarah Lawlor, Employability Support Worker (Schools)

Our Employability Support Worker (Schools) delivers a yearlong employability programme to S4 pupils in East Lothian high schools. Sarah helps the young people find the career options that are right for them and supports them to move on to their next steps after school.

Sarah joined Bridges Project in September 2024. She previously worked as a primary school teacher and holds an Education Studies degree from Queen Margaret University. Alongside Bridges Project, Sarah is the subject of a case study for Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF), which aims to support young people experiencing poverty through community learning and development opportunities.
